Living With Fibromyalgia

When the mysterious pain and debilitating fatigue plaguing a loved one is diagnosed as “fibromyalgia,” the reaction is usually relief at finally having a name for the pain, and then a bit of confusion as everyone scrambles to figure out exactly what fibromyalgia is and what a diagnosis means.

A chronic pain condition affecting millions of people, fibromyalgia is often misunderstood and difficult to explain. With over 960,000 websites offering information on fibromyalgia, weeding out the good and the questionable advice can be challenging for new patients and family members looking for guidance and recommendations.

The Living With Fibromyalgia project is a documentary meant to be a resource for newly diagnosed fibromyalgia patients and their families. This DVD is designed for the whole family to sit down and watch together. Families will learn a basic foundation of information about the condition as well as an introduction to treatments from nationally recognized experts and real patients who have learned how to successfully survive, and even thrive, with fibromyalgia.

Most importantly, new patients and their families will find hope as they see the stories of other patients and other families who have faced similar challenges and learned to accept this condition and live full, satisfying lives despite fibromyalgia. Living With Fibromyalgia is an honest, hopeful and highly practical resource for fibromyalgia patients and their families.

Living With Fibromyalgia is produced by Trillusion Media, a San Francisco-based media company. The motivation for this project has personal roots, as the co-producer’s mother was diagnosed with fibromyalgia three years ago. Their family has struggled to find good information about the condition and know how to best love and support their mom. This DVD is meant for other families in their position.
